with Yvonne: Summer Swim
It's warm out there....darn hot is more like it and this being Tucson we have a lot longer to go. So if you have not bought a new swimsuit yet you still have time to get plenty of use out of it by the pool here in Tucson or on vacation by the beach come Memorial Day weekend.
Some of the hottest swimsuit trend for 2005 are the bandeau top. This has to be the hottest style right now and every swimsuit label has it's own rendition. Big buckles and dangly, hip details are still big this year but now you will see the charms or buckle on one hip only.
Everything is super feminine and refined. Good news, swimsuit bottoms are offering a bit more coverage than in the past without giving up on any sexiness. You won't wee a lot of thongs or G- strings this year thank God unless you are hanging with a certain crowd in Lake Havasu!
Retro looks are really really big this year. The pink and green preppy look is huge! Lots of the :Lily Pulitzer that was so popular in the 60's is being seen in swimsuits this season.
European prints and glam styling are making a big showing harking back to the Italian Riviera and the James Bond era. Come on we all wanted a swimsuit a la Halle Berry as the last Bond girl. And speaking of retro who can forget those fabulous pin up girls of old suits that the cast of Desperate Housewives fought over on the cover of Vanity Fair a few months back? Now that's a look that I love, love, love!
Also look for shirred bottoms that scream Ciao baby! The look now is a sweet innocent look. Very girly with pretty English florals and lots of adorable ruffles which are everywhere from Letarte's French Pastry Bikini, to Ondademar's Tea party Swimsuit.
You can find these suits at Sigi's in St. Phillips Plaza on River asnd Campbell.
More coverage is also the trend in swimwear and swimsuits are starting to take on ythe look of regular streetwear. The "skintini" covers nicely and can be worn with a great little cami from Fresh or any of the great little tunics at Piece By Piece and Butz Jean Co. on River and Campbell in St. Phillips Plaza.
Be sure to check out Zoe's on Fourth Ave. for some really great beach looks as well.
There's plenty of hot weather to come here in Tucson, so get out there and shop for it!
